How Union Transformation is Active transformation ?

Yes, union transformation is active, because union t/r is derived from the custom t/r by informatica product team. Custom t/r can be active or passive, but union t/r is derived from custom t/r with active option enabled, which you can see in properties tab of union t/r as well as in custom t/r. We can disable this option in case of custom t/r where as we can't disable it in union t/r, that's why it is active.
